Negotiations allow you to track when event managers are able to save money for an event, typically for big-ticket items like hotel rooms and venue locations.  For example, your event manager booked 30 hotel rooms for an event, but instead of paying the rack rate or published rate of $195 per night, she negotiated a price of $150 per night, for a total savings of $1350. You can record this negotiation in the event setup for future reference.

You created negotiation items earlier in Chapter 2: Setting Up EventPro Planner, Step 5: General Lookup Tables, Negotiations Types.

These negotiable items will now appear in the Negotiation selection grid, where you can modify the price information for this particular event.

You may not need all negotiation items for every event, so you only have to enter information for those items that apply.  You can only modify the negotiation items, not the categories.

There is an Event Negotiation report in the Event Reports category of the Reports Menu.  For more information on reports, see Chapter 18: Reports, Report Descriptions: Reports from the Reports Menu, Event Reports: Event Negotiation.
