NOTE: This is Technical Information intended only for users with web server experience.

SSL security allows you to ensure that the information that is being transmitted back and forth between the web browser and Attendee Online is secure and encrypted so that no one else can view the information. This is important when you are gathering personal information about your attendees, and is required is you are accepting payments online from your attendees.

If you would like to use SSL with Attendee Online, you need to acquire three files for your certificate. You will need CERT.PEM, KEY.PEM, and ROOT.PEM files. These files will need to be placed in the bin folder in the main folder to which you installed Attendee Online.

To create the three files used by Attendee Online, an IntraWeb Server, you can request these files from your certificate provider or use a tool called SSL Buddy available from Arcana Technologies on their web site (http://www.arcanatech.com/).  The SSL Buddy Application will guide you through creating a certificate from a certificate authority and preparing that certificate for Attendee Online.  Attendee Online uses a certificate for Indy/Intraweb Server.

After you have SSL ready, you will need to change the server configuration file so that Attendee Online knows to use it. Changing the server configuration file is explained later under Server Configuration.

Attendee Online will use the SSL certificate you have installed with IIS. You do not need to do any other configurations with IIS to get it working.

After you have SSL ready in IIS, you will need to change the server configuration file so that Attendee Online knows to use it.  Changing the server configuration file is explained later under Server Configuration.
